Why are Republicans siding against Law enforcement and Military on important issues? We have heard from Arizona Law Enforcement as well as National organizations of Law enforcement agencies and it is virtually unanimous, they are all against the new law. Republicans however do not stand with the Police or Law Enforcement. They are now siding against Law Enforcement and the Military on Don't Ask Don't Tell with our top Commandeers and Chief of Staff all in agreement that Gays should now serve. 75% of the population also agrees. Does it seem these days that Republicans are out for themselves and that is all?
How often does Law Enforcement of different jurisdiction fight over jurisdiction? For the folks involved in law enforcement, how often does law enforcement of different jurisdiction actually fight and bicker over jurisdiction? Is it like in the movies, when you see the FBI and municipal police arguing over who has jurisdiction over the case? Or is it more so them working together and helping each other out in the case?
What can a law enforcement do if a parent is about to drive drunk and the child calls police? I have a son, whose father is legallay allowed to have our son for 2 weeks visitation. I am afraid after a drunken phone call last night that his father, who has a court order against him that says he is not allowed to drink while our child is in his custody, may try to pick up our child from the airport while intoxicated (similar things happened over a decade ago). Now, I have told my son, under no circumstances is he to get into a car if his father smells like alcohol. Will the law enforcement community help my son if he calls from an airport phone? What can he do, being a minor, to keep his father from making him and his little sister get into the car? If my son has the court order in his hand, and calls the police, are they going to help him? Or does he actually have to commit the driving crime (dui/dwi) and endanger our child before they can help? I have to allow this visitation, per court order. My son says he will do this, but I shouldn't have to ask. So what do I do?
What kind of legal enforcement do TV Judges have? I was wondering what type of legal actions, a tv judge actually has? Can they have someone arrested for contempt of court? What kind of law enforcement work does the coast guard do? I'm planing on joining the coast guard a was wandering what kind of law enforcement they do? I know they bust drugs and all that but what else. I really want to go around and bust drugs and board ships but I don't know any of the terms. Also what would be the requirements for those kinds of jobs? How high would I have to test on the asvab test. What about a GM, BM, or an OS. Granted an OS would probably deal with the setting things up more just wandering.
What states have law enforcement rangers? I need a list of all the states that have "Law Enforcement Rangers" v.s a list of all the states that use either park police or local police to enforce state park laws and regulations. And any other information about State Park Law enforcement, environmental law enforcement (academys, degrees, positions) would be helpful. Thanks. I am looking for states whose Park Rangers have FULL powers of arrest and state wide jurisdiction. Sworn in officers that carry a gun.
How do you avoid planning enforcement action? 10 years ago I had a rear extension made without planning permission and now the council are onto me however they said if the structure has been in place over 4 years that it is immune from enforcement action. So really I hve nothing to worry about except How do I prove it has been existing 10 years?
What is a good degree to have for law enforcement? I am kind of thinking of a career in law enforcement and I have heard Criminal Justice is useless because you pretty much learn that type of thing in Police Academy and on the job. So does anyone have any other degrees that would be useful for law enforcement? sorry for the two identical topics, didnt mean to. Criminal justice isnt required in many agencies though..
How come law enforcement people are criminals? I got this law enforcement person busted, he try to assault me, and some people on this site who claim to be cops are really rude saying its against the law to defend yourself from a off duty law enforcement person, I sure do help they live in another state and live near only mean nasty people.
What enforcement careers allow visible tattoos? I'm prior military service, and I don't believe I can re-enlist because I have tattoos on my neck and one of my hands, knuckles, etc. I am interested in getting back into a combat role, or law enforcement career. How does the process work in law enforcement careers? Does every cop start as a cadet and work their way up? For example, whats the experience needed for the higher-end desk jobs, did everyone start as a basic cop? Sorry if this is a broad question, i have no knowledge of the law enforcement field so please forgive me.

What is best, local, county, or state? I am pretty sure that I don't want to be a city cop; people just seem to hate them, so really it's a choice between county and state.
What are typical skills desired in a law enforcement officer ? Hi, I'm doing the assignment for a law class, and came up with this question above. I need your honest opinion (the more the better). It would be great if someone, who works directly as a law enforcement officer (of any kind) can come up with the answer. Thanks for your attention !
What are the duties of the different law enforcement agencies.? I am wondering what the different duties are of the various Law enforcement agencies, such as state patrol, Sherrifs's, and city police. Could a city police pull over a speeding car on the freeway? If there was a police chase that crossed multiple city's/Countys, how far can they follow? Etc. Thanks.
Why are so many Law Enforcement officers on Yahoo Answers so biased against the average citizen? It seems that if anyone asks a question or gives and answer that reflects Law Enforcement negatively, they are labeled as criminals, ignorant or slandered in some way or another. No one is perfect and this goes for law enforcement too. There are some bad members of law enforcement out there and to pretend that law enforcement officers are immaculate only damages your image. Why is there a bias against the average citizen by Law Enforcement on this site?
Where do I start my carrer in law enforcement? I have never had a job in law enforcement plus I am majoring in criminal justice and trying to find a job within my major. How does parking enforcement know exactly what time it is? I got a ticket at 8:55am today for having parked in a no 7am-to-9am parking zone. My watch showed a few minutes after 9am when I parked. How does parking enforcement know it was earlier? Do they use some special type of watch? I really want to contest this so please let me know if you have any suggestions! Thank you!
How do law enforcement officers feel about repeat offenders? Specifically, drunk drivers. In general my observation has been that drunk drivers and domestic violence cases get hauled in again and again, only to walk with a fine or something which doesn't change their behavior or mentality in the slightest. How do law enforcement view these people? Is it frustrating to have to deal with these people over and over, and not be able to do anything but enforce the law? How do you feel about the judges, lawyers and legislators who make and interpret the laws? I'm not suggesting a change in the way law enforcement operates, I'm simply asking how it affects officers to do this sisyphean task.
What are some careers in law enforcement? I am 18 years old and going to college fall 2010. My father wants me to become a doctor or a lawyer, I'm guessing because those are the two main ones everyone thinks of and he wants me to make a lot of money. I've wanted to go into nursing, but I have been thinking and i don't know if it's the right choice. I have been thinking more something in law enforcement now. Maybe even a police officer, but I want more to choose from. What are other interesting careers in law enforcement. I've always been one for excitement and a rush.
When will law enforcement agencies in CA start hiring again? I was just curious to know how much longer the recession will effect the law enforcement sector? I graduated from the police academy last year. But jobs all throughout California are sparse. I went back to school to finish my degree in the meantime. I'm also considering going into the military to gain more skills and build upon what I've learned in the academy. I'm doing this in hopes things will pick up in the next couple years.

What kind of jobs are available to those with Law Enforcement experience? I plan on becoming a police officer, but only want to do it for a few years since I am not a big fan of working for the government. What are good volunteer credentials before applying for Federal law enforcement? I'm currently enrolled in a university to receive my masters in criminal justice. Before graduation I would like to have some volunteer experience that is related to law enforcement. My first choice is to work as a special agent for the FBI; just in case you're wondering.
How is the best way to get in to law enforcement? I am 20 years old living in Virginia. I want to get into the law enforcement field. I am going to college working on a BA. I am working and going to school. I want to work in this field. How is the best way to get into it?
What branch of the military is best for building a law enforcement career? I just graduated from college, I'm 23, and I plan on joining the military in hopes of acquiring the necessary skills and experience to develop a prosperous law enforcement career. I heard the Coast Guard or the Navy are my best bets. Supposedly Coast Guard members have the easiest time making a lateral (transition) into a federal job after their service is up. But the Navy has a broader range of fields and skills to offer than the Coast Guard. Any suggestions?

I am a student trying to write a research paper. How does the use of computers affect law enforcement? I have to explain how technology is used in my field or study/major. I am a criminal justice major w/ emphasis in law enforcement. I would really appreciate any help you could give me. The more credible the information, the better. When it comes to technology, how has the use of it increased in law enforcement over the last 10-20 years? How does technology affect investigations? How does technology hinder crime solving? What are the pros and cons of having the use of technology in law enforcement?
Can women be snipers for law enforcement units? Like swat or the FBI etc? I know they can not be snipers in the military but i was wondering if they would be for special government law enforcement units, maybe like the CIA or something like that, or just regular law enforcement units. I love the show "Flashpoint" and the female who is in that show is a sniper, i know tv shows and real life are completely different but i am curious if women can be snipers in civilian life. Thanks!
How does a parking enforcement officer know you're parking over the time limit? I got a ticket for being parked over the posted time limit. The posted time limit was for 2 hours. I was at the gym for only 1 hour and I got a ticket for exceeding the 2 hour limit. Totally bogus! Anyway, obviously I am appealing this sorry excuse to rip off an innocent tax payer, but i'm curious as to how the parking enforcement officers know which cars are over the limit and which ones aren't? Seems like whatever the procedure is, it doesn't work!
Do you need to get law enforcement training prior to applying for jobs? I'm very interested in joining some form of law enforcement, or becoming a special agent for NCIS someday. What are the requirements? What kind of degree do I need in college, and is there any form of special training I need to take prior to applying for that kind of job? I know different law enforcement jobs have different requirements but if someone could give me a general outline I'd greatly appreciate it.
How can you dispute a code enforcement officers findings? I have a property that the code enforcement officer says needs a ton of work. I disagree and think some of the items he is questioning fall under the "grandfather clause" it does not have to meet new code cause it was built before the new code. What do I do? My home is basically condemned and I am going to have to demolish it?
What college degrees help law enforcement careers? I am looking into a career of law enforcement and wasn't quite sure what I should major in for college. I am considering military service and understand that it obviously helps, but I am just wondering about the educational side of getting ahead in the whole process.
Moving to Denver from Houston and looking to get involved in law enforcement? I'm planning on moving to Denver from Houston in a few months. I've lived here my whole life and now I'm tired of it. I'm currently in college but I want to get involved in law enforcement. If anyone knows about the PD in Denver, is it fairly easy to get in and are they in need for officers like in bigger cities?
