How come law enforcement people are criminals?

I got this law enforcement person busted, he try to assault me, and some people on this site who claim to be cops are really rude saying its against the law to defend yourself from a off duty law enforcement person, I sure do help they live in another state and live near only mean nasty people.

  1. Law enforcement officials make the best criminals. Afterall, they study criminal science.
  2. you actually have the freedom of speech, a person who is working for the law that gets fired can be intemidated by your reaction, so its possible that person told his pals to mess around with you.
  3. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. But they aren't all criminals any more than all doctors are quacks. I've always had good experiences with the boys in blue (my brothers can't say the same.. lol). I have one living 100 feet from me, been a good neighbor for almost 18 years. When I was young - I had many officer friends who made me feel safe (wild inner city child here). I also can't imagine having to do their job. :x
  4. Are you a colored person? It sounds as if you may be, that is whats called "The Man keeping you down" get over it, or go back to Africa
  5. most sane people don't just randomly pick a person out of a crowd and assault him/her. are you sure you did nothing to provoke an attack? law enforcement personnel or otherwise, if you were assaulted, you have legal recourse which would be more effective than your diatribe on Yahoo.
  6. Because that's the joy of the position. I think it attracts a lot of people who like to intimidate other people and throw their weight around. A good friend of a friend of mine once was in a car with some girl. He was a police cadet or a recently graduated officer. Both were drunk and she was driving. They T-boned another car at an intersection. She was bleeding, her nose might have been broken. He fled the scene knowing how screwed he would be if they caught him. Later he called up some guys on the force to ask advice as to what to do. One officer said, say nothing, they have no evidence and nothing on you. The other one said confess and we'll arrange to reduce the charges. Moral of the story, cops protect their own even (or especially) when that comes to breaking the law.
  7. Your statement is a generalization. But of course there are criminals in every profession. My grandfather was a cop, for the right reasons. However there are many people out there who have psychological issues and become police officers or whatever to have power over others. It's the same with the military. When I enlisted all the branches of the military do their processing and physicals and everything together. I kid you not, the shortest men there were going for the marines, every single time. It became a joke in every group. Each time we saw a short guy we'd say "Looking forward to Parris Island?" and everytime they responded in the affirmative, lol. Some people have inferiority complexes, and so they look for ways to make up for it. *disclaimer* I do not think or want to indicate that all short guys have inferiority complexes or that all marines are short guys, lol. :)
  8. If you want to hate police officers, that's OK with me. Just make up a better story next time. This one is so lame. P.S. I live in California, and I have wonderful neighbors.
  9. I'm not sure what happened to you in your case. If the officer truly and illegally assaulted you, then you are right in bringing charges against him/her. Where you are NOT right, is stereotyping all police officers. I was a law enforcement officer for 23 years. And I did not break the law, neither did I "assault" anyone who was not attempting to assault me first. For you to make a statement that law enforcement officers are "criminals" is not only false, but it's inflamatory. In this forum, we're only hearing your side of the story. We have not heard the officers side. There are two sides to every story. Perhaps it was YOU who initiated the assault with the officer. Seeing that I'm lacking any other information, I could not rule that out. Anyone investigating this, would certainly take that into consideration if they were being objective. Another question I have is, Why were you stopped by the officer? Most of the time officers do not stop people for no reason. What were YOU doing? You see, we're lacking alot of information here. There might be more to this than you're telling. Until you've walked a mile in our shoes, you might not be so quick to condemn all of us. And to add something else, I've booked alot of cops in my career for doing wrong. And they were a disgrace and an embarrasment to all of us. So don't you believe for one moment that we don't police our own, because we do. I've sent many a former cop to jail, and prison. So lighten up on us, will ya?
  10. You hide your email, and change your identity. I totally understand. Your outlook on life, and your feeling toward the Police will change once you reach puberty. Maybe we're neighbors. I live right out side Chicago, where do you live?.
  11. cops are normal people like everyone else
