Is Sacramento moving in a good direction as far as business growth?
I'm planning to move to Sacramento in a few weeks. I don't want to move to a town where businesses seem to ignore, or there's no growth. Because in the long run, a town could end up in trouble like Detroit. So, do businesses seem to be coming to Sacramento? Is it growing in a positive way? Is it a good city that's underrated?

- There is no growth in business here.A lot of empty buildings every where and few jobs, good or other wise.
- In this economy, no one place is growing, to be honest. lots of layoff and out of business, vacant stores and dead mall. but Sac is not that dead yet, there still some area growing like Roseville. business are growing in that area and no matter how broke people are, they can still afford to shop at the Galleria mall like the LV store, Burberry, high end stores....so depends on if you are looking for jobs or going to schools, there still a lot sac can offer, of course if you are moving to better places, living cost will be higher, Sac is reasonable as far as living cost and expenses. I also wanted to add some more info to my answer, Sacramento is underrated in this article. please check it out: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-34348516
- During this down turning economy, Sacramento benefits from the fact that it is easier to maintain a nice life style on less money here than it is in the San Francisco Bay area. Also, this is a government-driven town, and government may slow down, but it never goes away. To the extent there is growth anywhere in California, it is happening in the Sacramento area.
