The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) has announced that Cal EPIC has joined its statewide network. Cal EPIC focuses on research and development for energy and transportation technology, with an emphasis on clean mobility and workforce development.
Lance Hastings, President & CEO of CMTA, said, “Cal EPIC’s commitment to advancing manufacturing and mobility solutions makes them a strong addition to our network. Their presence further strengthens CMTA’s ability to advocate for innovation and effective workforce development across the state’s manufacturing sector.”
Orville Thomas, CEO of Cal EPIC, stated, “Cal EPIC is proud to join CMTA and be part of such a dynamic network of California innovators. Our work at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, energy, and transportation aligns closely with CMTA’s mission, and we look forward to collaborating with fellow members to strengthen the industry and bring clean tech manufacturing back to California.”
Cal EPIC operates the Ramp-Up Factory in Sacramento, a 25,000-square-foot facility offering hands-on training, prototype development, and small-scale production. The organization provides programs aimed at training electric-vehicle technicians, EV supply-equipment technicians, and other roles in green careers.
CMTA represents manufacturers throughout California. Manufacturing contributes $300 billion annually to the state’s economy—about 10 percent of total economic output—and employs 1.3 million people in the state.
Cal EPIC is a non-profit public-private partnership focused on accelerating clean energy and transportation technologies through research, early-stage manufacturing support, and collaboration between industry leaders.
