California prepares for diverse festivals, concerts, food events across state this June

California is set to host a variety of events in June 2025, ranging from cultural festivals and music concerts to food and wine gatherings across the state.

California State Parks Week will take place from June 11 to 15, featuring special activities throughout the state. The early summer harvest season will be visible with sunflowers blooming in Yolo County and fruit stands along the Fresno County Fruit Trail. Pride Month celebrations are scheduled in major cities, including Los Angeles on June 8, Sacramento from June 14–15, and San Francisco on June 28–29.

Film enthusiasts can attend the Mendocino Film Festival from May 29 to June 1, which will screen more than 60 films, including “Neil Young: Coastal” and “No Other Land.” Horror fans may visit Monsterpalooza in Pasadena during the same weekend. Sonoma County Pride festivities begin with a parade in Santa Rosa on May 31 and a large pool party at Graton Resort & Casino on June 1.

Carmel-by-the-Sea’s Carmel Culinary Week runs from May 30 to June 7 with over thirty restaurants participating. The San Mateo County Fair takes place from May 30 to June 8, offering themed days such as Asian Culture Day and Family Pride Day, as well as concerts by Better than Ezra and Everclear.

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week also runs through early June, featuring prix fixe menus at over one hundred locations. In West Hollywood, the Outloud Music Festival features performances by Lizzo, Remi Wolf, and Paris Hilton on May 31 and June 1.

Other notable events include the Downtown Burbank Arts Festival (May 31–June 1), L.A. WineFest in Long Beach (May 31–June 1), Bay Area Book Festival in Berkeley (May 31–June 1), Tustin Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off (June 1), Barnsdall Park Friday Night Wine Tastings starting June 6 in Los Angeles, American Graffiti Festival in Modesto (June 6–8), Big Time Logging Jamboree in Chester (June 7), Watermelon Festival at Lakeview Terrace (June 7–8), Fishin’ For $50K Trout Tournament at Big Bear Lake (June 7–8), WSL Lexus Trestles Pro surf competition near San Clemente (June 9–17), National Shopping Day at outlet malls statewide (June 12–15), SoulPlay Festival for adults only in Cobb (June 12–15), Healdsburg Jazz Festival with acts like Dianne Reeves and Jason Moran (June 13–22), San Diego Brew Festival (June 14) followed by San Diego Beer Weekend later that month.

Sports events include Lost & Found Gravel Grinder mountain bike race in Portola (June 14) and Big Blue Adventures Half Marathon & 8-Miler at Palisades Tahoe on the same day. Cultural celebrations range from Crawdad Festival highlighting Cajun culture in Sacramento to Native American Arts Festival Week at Idyllwild Arts featuring artists’ exhibitions and readings by Joy Harjo.

Music series such as Solvang Music in the Park start mid-June; classic fairs like Conejo Valley Days run from June 19–29; Petaluma Fair celebrates local food producers; Woodies on the Wharf showcases vintage cars along Santa Cruz’s waterfront; Summer Solstice Parade & Festival brings live music to Santa Barbara; Old Santa Ynez Days celebrates Western heritage; Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival combines hot-air balloons with wine tasting.

Food lovers can attend Blues & Brews festival in Pacifica or Taste of Sonoma for wine tastings. Lavender Blue Harvest Days highlight seasonal produce around Placerville late month. The Palm Springs International Short Fest screens short films between June 24-30 while country music fans gather for Santa Rosa Country Summer festival.

The Relish Food, Wine & Spirits Experience takes place in Newport Beach featuring celebrity chefs like Jamie Gwen and Tyler Florence. Juneteenth is commemorated at Black Miners Bar near Folsom Lake Recreation Area on June 28 with live music and family activities. Outdoor sports continue with Truckee Dirt Fondo cycling event that same day.

Santa Monica hosts Pier 360 Beach Festival with competitions ranging from paddleboard races to skateboard tricks on its iconic pier at month’s end.
