The California Public Utilities Commission announced on March 30 that several new filings and proposed decisions were added to ongoing and new proceedings during the week of March 23-27, 2026. These filings may impact utility services, communities, and consumers across the state.

The announcement is important because it gives the public an opportunity to participate in regulatory actions that can affect rates, infrastructure investments, and consumer protections. Many of these proceedings are open for public comment or subscription to updates.

Among the notable items filed was a proposed decision authorizing a ten percent rate increase on Crimson California Pipeline’s Southern California pipeline system. Another proposed decision seeks immediate improvements to the California Climate Credit program in order to lower electric and gas bills. There was also a proposed decision dismissing a joint petition for modification of an earlier CPUC decision as moot.

New applications included requests from telecommunications and energy companies. The North American Numbering Plan Administrator applied on behalf of industry stakeholders for relief in the 657/714 area code region. The Landline Company submitted an application seeking authority to operate scheduled passenger service between Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport and San Francisco International Airport with a flexible fare structure known as Zone of Rate Freedom.

Additional applications were filed by Western Riverside Council of Governments seeking approval for its Inland Regional Energy Network portfolio plan through 2035; Southern California Edison Company requested authorization to deploy Advanced Metering Infrastructure version 2.0; Pacific Gas and Electric Company sought cost recovery related to extended operation at Diablo Canyon Power Plant throughout calendar year 2027; and Bing Zhou lodged a complaint against Wave Energy LLC and Pacific Gas & Electric alleging overbilling.

Members of the public are encouraged by CPUC officials to submit written comments on any proposed decisions via each proceeding’s Docket Card or subscribe using proceeding numbers for future updates.
