The U.S. Census Bureau released on April 9 a new downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These updated figures provide insight into the demographic composition of the United States, which is important for planning in areas such as public policy, education, and healthcare.

According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. Future updates will also feature more detailed breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin at various geographic levels including metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas and counties. Population estimates for Puerto Rico Commonwealth and its municipios by age and sex are also scheduled to be released.
