The U.S. Census Bureau has released the 2010-2020 Intercensal Estimates by demographic characteristics. These estimates are updated every ten years after the decennial census and revise previous population data to match the most recent census results.

The new intercensal estimates provide information for the United States, its states, and counties, broken down by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin. For Puerto Rico and its municipios, data is available by age and sex.

These estimates include a base as of April 1, 2010, annual figures from July 1, 2010 through July 1, 2019, and counts from Census Day on April 1, 2020.

According to the Census Bureau, “A consistent time series of population estimates that reflects (or benchmarks to) the 2010 Census and 2020 Census counts is important for any study of the population over time. The intercensal estimates can be used to track trends in population changes or as denominators for calculating birth and death rates and other population characteristics.”
