The City of Sacramento announced on April 24 that its Incident Management Team responded to 640 calls for service last week, focusing efforts on people experiencing homelessness by offering services, shelter options, and ensuring compliance with city laws.
The response included a significant operation from April 13 to April 19 at the large encampment located on the 1900 block of Marconi Circle in North Sacramento. According to the city, staff from the Department of Community Response, the Sacramento Police Department’s IMPACT Team, County behavioral health specialists, and navigators from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs spent three weeks conducting coordinated outreach in this area.
During this period, teams engaged individuals at 512 unique locations throughout Sacramento. The city also reported that its cleanup partner FS Global removed approximately 25 cubic yards of refuse from the Marconi Circle site as part of environmental services.
Other key activities included responding to numerous service requests through the city’s “311” system and monitoring shelter availability as of April 21. Outreach teams continued their work connecting individuals with placements in available shelters during this time frame.
The city said it remains committed to addressing homelessness through ongoing collaboration among local departments and partners. Further information about recent efforts is available for those who subscribe to official updates.
