Disney is marking the start of World Princess Week with a range of events and releases that highlight the impact and legacy of its princess characters. The week includes new musical content, special concerts, exclusive products, streaming programming, and charitable initiatives.
A new brand spot titled “All Princesses Make Magic” features music by seven-time Grammy Award winner Jacob Collier. The video tells the story of two sisters who create a magical birthday celebration for their mother, inspired by Disney princesses and featuring Santino Fontana, known for his role as Hans in “Frozen.”
Mallory Wang, Vice President of Brand Marketing at The Walt Disney Company, commented on the significance of the celebration: “For over a century, Disney has enchanted audiences across generations with timeless stories that ignite the imagination, and Disney princesses remain an enduring part of our storytelling—inspiring kids and fans of all ages to go beyond dreaming big, to doing big things. We created this special musical brand spot in celebration of World Princess Week, the countless Disney Princess fans around the world, and the limitless power of their imaginations.”
On August 29, fans can watch “Disney Princess Concert: Celebrating 70 Years of Disneyland” on YouTube and later on Disney+. The concert features performances from Auli‘i Cravalho (Moana), Jodi Benson (Ariel), Paige O’Hara (Belle), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), with hosts Ginnifer Goodwin and Susan Egan. This event celebrates both World Princess Week and Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary.
Jodi Benson also appears alongside singer Lauren Paley in a ride-along video through “The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure,” sharing insights about her character’s influence on fans.
New product launches are part of this year’s campaign. Offerings include Jakks Pacific Majestic Dresses, Little Words Project bracelets, DIFF Eyewear designs, Pandora’s reimagined rings, Squishmallows box sets, Cakeworthy apparel collections, an advent calendar from Disney Store, and several new books such as “Tiana’s Perfect Plan” by Anika Noni Rose. Recent product collaborations with Mattel and LEGO feature animal sidekicks from various princess stories.
Disney+ is offering new programming including “LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite” and a dedicated stream featuring princess films. Premium subscribers have access to sweepstakes for themed prizes through disneyplus.com/perks.
Educational content has also been released on NatGeoKids’ YouTube channel showing behind-the-scenes looks at real animals that inspired princess sidekicks like Rajah from Aladdin or Pua from Moana.
Musical celebrations include pre-orders for a special edition Tangled vinyl album through Disney Music Emporium and the release of “Disney Princess Strings: Garden Soirée” across digital platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. A live concert tour based on Moana will begin October 3 in Morristown, New Jersey; more details are available online.
In partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation, Disney granted wishes for over 100 children globally during World Princess Week. Activities included invitations to concerts at Disneyland Park, personalized park experiences such as being crowned “Princess for a Day,” themed stays at Disneyland Paris for wish children later in the week, dress-up opportunities in Latin America, and special experiences aboard Disney Cruise Line ships docked in Rome. According to information provided by Make-A-Wish Foundation [https://wish.org/], thousands of wishes are granted each year involving Disney characters—highlighting how these stories provide hope to children facing serious illnesses.
Additional content related to World Princess Week will be rolled out throughout the year on ABC and Hulu.
