The Sacramento State Men’s Basketball team is featured in a new documentary series, “Fear Nothing: Sac State,” which premieres today, May 1, on The Roku Channel.

The docuseries highlights the team’s efforts to make a mark in college basketball under Head Coach Mike Bibby and General Manager Shaquille O’Neal. It focuses on Hornets guard Mikey Williams as he works to rebuild his career and explores Bibby’s transition from NBA player to college coach.

“Sacramento has always had heart, and Sac State basketball represents the grit and that chip on the shoulder,” Bibby said. “Giving these young men a platform to show their work ethic, their brotherhood, and what it means to wear green and gold — that’s powerful. I’m proud to see the Hornets get this kind of spotlight.”

A special screening of the first episode took place Wednesday afternoon at Hinde Auditorium in the University Union. The event included a panel discussion with Bibby, Overtime film director Dontae Putmon, and players Shaqir O’Neal and Prophet Johnson.

The six-episode series offers behind-the-scenes access from locker rooms to campus life. It features the partnership between Bibby and O’Neal—both former NBA rivals—and includes Hornets forward Shaqir O’Neal.

“This is an incredible moment for Sacramento State,” Athletics Director Mark Orr said. “To have two of the biggest names in sports media shining a light on our program, our players, and our community speaks volumes about what’s happening here.”

Joe Franzetta, head of sports for Roku Media said: “Roku is always looking for stories that surprise people, stories with heart, grit, and real stakes. ‘Fear Nothing: Sac State’ brings all that and more. Sacramento State is building something fearless and fresh… We’re thrilled to exclusively debut this title which brings viewers inside a team that refuses to be overlooked.”

Overtime partnered with Omaha Productions—founded by NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning—to produce the series. Dan Porter, CEO of Overtime said: “Overtime has always championed programs, athletes, and coaches who challenge the status quo. What Shaq is building at Sac State is bold, ambitious, and authentic… partnering with Peyton and Omaha to tell that story makes it even more special.”

New episodes will be released weekly across Roku Channel as well as Overtime platforms.
