Dozens of delegates from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) met in Atlanta for a conference organized by the Georgia State Council, which serves as the union’s political advocacy group across the state. The event was aimed at strengthening political involvement among union members before the upcoming midterm elections.

During the conference, IAM members had discussions with political candidates to address topics important to working families. This meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the council to encourage member participation in political processes and advocate for labor interests at various levels of government.

The gathering reflects a broader trend of unions increasing their focus on election engagement to ensure that workers’ concerns are represented in policy decisions.
