Locals and Districts of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Midwest Territory will sponsor a “Salute to the Military” hockey game with the Quad City Storm on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event will take place at Vibrant Arena in Moline, Illinois.

The IAM Union Hockey Night will include activities such as Chuck-a-Puck, a live player jersey auction, and tributes to veterans. Proceeds from the event will support Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), which is a charity favored by the IAM Union.

Ahead of the game, supporters are invited to participate in a Paint the Ice event on Monday, November 3. This event allows individuals to have a veteran’s name painted on the ice as a form of recognition for their service.

Checks supporting the event should be made payable to GDA with “Hockey Game” noted in the memo line. Contributions can be sent to IAM District 6 at 2000 Walker Street, Ste. J, Des Moines, IA 50317.

The sponsorship is organized by IAM Union Veteran Services and includes several locals as sponsors: District 6, Locals 1728, 1010, 388, and 1191 as Goalie Sponsors; Locals 254, 821, 1526, 1293, 1045, 1238, and 31 as Wingman Sponsors.
