The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that the deadline for ordering personalized bricks to honor fallen members at the IAM Workers’ Memorial is March 1, 2026. The memorial is located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

Each year, Workers’ Memorial Day is observed to remember workers who have died, been injured, or become ill due to their work. As part of this observance, IAM locals and districts can purchase personalized bricks that are placed at the memorial.

Bricks can be purchased for $100 with three lines of text (up to 20 characters per line) without a logo. For $125, buyers can include the IAM logo with up to 15 characters per line on three lines. There is also an option for an 8×8 brick costing $200, which allows six lines of text without a logo or five lines with either the IAM logo or another preferred logo.

A commemorative tile showing support and solidarity can be purchased for $10.

If a local has lost a member due to work-related causes, they may request a complimentary brick in honor of that member by submitting a completed order form.

The IAM Workers’ Memorial was completed in 2001 and features bricks bearing names of fallen members along with contributions from lodges and individual members. An annual ceremony takes place at the memorial to remember those lost and renew efforts toward workplace safety. The date for this year’s ceremony will be announced soon.

“Each year, a ceremony is held at the memorial to remember the workers we’ve lost and renew our commitment to preventing workplace injuries and fatalities,” according to information provided by IAM.
