At the Intel Technology Tour in Arizona, Intel presented advancements in its AI Assistant Builder software. The product, which was introduced at CES Las Vegas earlier this year under the name SuperBuilder and later renamed, is a free software stack for Intel-based AI PCs.

Intel’s latest demonstration focused on a hybrid solution that combines local and cloud computing resources. This approach is designed to improve performance while maintaining data privacy for users. More than 200 members of the global media attended demonstrations, including one showing a hybrid agentic AI browser and another featuring hybrid AI PowerPoint generation.

“With a newer hybrid solution, AI Assistant Builder is now able to take advantage of both local computer resources, local AI models as well as large language models available in the cloud,” said Olena Zhu, Head of AI Solutions for Intel’s Client Computing Group.

According to Zhu, this hybrid model aims to offer better speed and lower latency while ensuring user data remains secure. The company plans a full release of this new solution when its Panther Lake platform launches in 2026.

Earlier in September 2025 at IFA Berlin with Lenovo and Acer, Intel released version 2.0 of the AI Assistant Builder. This update includes multi-agent orchestration and an MCP (model context protocol) framework that connects local computing power with remote servers to meet different computational needs. Further updates to enhance these capabilities are expected over the coming months.

Zhu added: “With Panther Lake, PC platforms will have much more computing power in terms of TOPs and memory bandwidth. The power of Panther Lake platforms combined with the hybrid AI framework of AI Assistant Builder will usher in more exciting AI use cases that will improve the overall AI experience for PC users.”

The software does not require an internet connection after installation and runs entirely on users’ PCs to give them greater control over their data security.
