The Sacramento City Unified School District announced on Apr. 14 that a community meeting will be held at Isador Cohen Elementary School on April 22 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. in the school cafeteria as part of the search for a new principal.

The district said this meeting is an opportunity for families and community members to participate in the process of selecting the next school leader. The input collected during this event will help guide interview questions and ensure that the chosen candidate meets the needs and expectations of those involved with Isador Cohen Elementary.

Community members are also invited to complete a Principal Search Feedback Form by April 22 at 5:00 p.m., sharing their views on what qualities they would like to see in the next principal. This feedback, according to district officials, will directly inform how candidates are evaluated during interviews.

In addition, those interested in taking a more active role can apply to serve on the Principal Interview Panel by submitting a Request for Participation form to Enrique Flores at enrique-flores@scusd.edu by April 22 at 5:00 p.m.

The district encourages all stakeholders—families, staff, and local residents—to take part in these opportunities so that their voices are reflected throughout the hiring process.
