The Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation has opened applications for local nonprofits to be considered as the recipient of the Leadership Sacramento Class of 2026 community betterment project. The upcoming cohort will consist of 40 participants from a range of regional businesses and organizations.

Each year, Leadership Sacramento selects a nonprofit partner and works on a significant community project. In previous years, projects have included the revitalization of Oak Park Sol Community Garden with Alchemist CDC by the Class of 2025, and construction of a park facility along Del Paso Corridor with Street Soccer USA Sacramento by the Class of 2024.

“Without question, the highlight of the Leadership Sacramento program each year is working in partnership with an amazing local nonprofit and immersing ourselves in a community project that impacts lives, uplifts the community, and makes the future brighter for our charitable partner,” said Savannah Fox, Program Manager at Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation. “We encourage interested nonprofits to apply for the program so we can shine a light on another incredible organization.”

Nonprofits interested in applying must submit their applications by February 6, 2026. The selection process will involve collaboration between stakeholders, with an announcement expected in April 2026. Over eight years, Leadership Sacramento classes have contributed more than $1.9 million to local nonprofits.

Leadership Sacramento was established in 1985 as a program under the Metro Chamber Foundation to foster business and civic leadership. Each class participates in monthly sessions addressing key economic issues before completing its annual service project.

The Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation supports leadership development and employment opportunities across El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties through five main programs. It operates as part of the larger Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce network.
