The Sacramento Metro Chamber is preparing for its 25th annual Study Mission, which will take place in Boston from October 6 to 10. The program brings together leaders from the Sacramento region’s business, civic, and elected communities. Its purpose is to encourage new ideas, build connections, and promote cooperation.

Delegates will take part in presentations, tours, and experiences focused on Boston’s approaches to government operations, economic growth, cultural identity, and related topics. The event will address themes such as city governance strategies, revitalizing downtown areas, food system innovations, developing workforce talent, and improving quality of life. Organizers say these activities are designed to give participants insights into programs that have changed other cities and to highlight ways collaboration can support regional development.

Jay Robinson of Kaiser Permanente is recognized as the presenting sponsor for this year’s program. Shirley K. Smith of Golden1 Credit Union serves as the 2025 Program Chair.

“These immersive sessions help Sacramento leaders bring home powerful insights—from programs that reshape cities to collaborative models that drive regional growth.”
