The City of Sacramento announced on April 9 that it will host a free online webinar for residents on April 29, focused on helping people find and fix common household water leaks.
The event aims to help residents save both water and money by identifying leaks that can often go unnoticed. According to the announcement, the session will run from noon to 1 p.m. and is open to all Sacramento residents who register online.
William Granger, the City’s water conservation coordinator, said, “Many leaks are easy to miss, but they can have a big impact on both water use and utility bills.” Granger added, “This webinar will walk residents through simple ways to identify and address leaks both inside and outside the home.”
During the session, city staff plan to demonstrate how participants can check for leaks using traditional methods like reading a water meter. They will also show how residents can use the City’s free water tracking website as another tool for monitoring usage and spotting potential issues.
The webinar is set to cover inspection techniques for common problem areas such as toilets, faucets, water heaters, and supply lines. The city encourages interested individuals to register in advance in order to participate.
