SMUD will participate in the OG Lowrider x Wired Down Sacramento Festival on September 13, offering electric vehicle (EV) education and test drives. The event, held at the California Automobile Museum from noon to 7 p.m., brings together classic lowriders, live music, and street vendors.

Attendees can learn about EV technology and take advantage of federal tax credits for electric vehicles worth up to $7,500, which are set to expire on September 30. Experts from Charge Across Town will be present to answer questions regarding these incentives.

A notable feature of the festival is an electric lowrider conversion built by students from Sacramento Academic and Vocational Academy (SAVA) with support from SMUD. This vehicle was recently displayed at the Smithsonian and demonstrates how traditional car culture can incorporate clean energy solutions.

General admission is free, but organizers recommend using rideshare services due to limited parking availability.
