Snap Inc. announced on Apr. 23 the launch of Place Loyalty, a new feature on Snap Map that highlights users’ most frequently visited locations over the past year.

The update aims to give Snapchat users a way to celebrate and recognize their favorite spots, reflecting how certain places become part of daily routines and personal identity.

Place Loyalty identifies when a user is among the top 25 percent of Snapchatters who visit a particular place, assigning rankings such as Gold-tier or Silver-level based on visit frequency. Users can spot a “Top Visitor” badge directly on locations within Snap Map, tap it to view their loyalty status with category callouts, and share their ranking using special stickers. For brands and chains, visits are aggregated across all locations so that every trip counts toward overall loyalty.

According to Snap Inc., Snap Map has become one of the most widely used mobile maps globally, with more than 435 million monthly active users connecting with friends and exploring local happenings. The company said features like Place Loyalty build upon existing ways people use the map—checking in with friends or discovering popular spots—to enhance shared experiences.

As more people rely on digital tools for social interaction and exploration, features like Place Loyalty may further integrate online platforms into everyday life by making personal habits visible in new ways.
