Snap Inc. has announced the wider release of its Imagine Lens feature, an image generation tool previously available only to Lens+ and Snapchat Platinum subscribers. The company stated that this technology is now accessible to all users in the United States without requiring a subscription, with plans to expand availability to Canada, Great Britain, and Australia.

According to Snap Inc., Snapchat users engage with Lenses more than 8 billion times daily through the app’s camera. The Imagine Lens allows users to type an idea and generate a corresponding image, which can then be shared within the platform or externally.

“To make sure everyone gets to feel the magic, we’re giving Snapchatters a handful of free generations to experiment with,” Snap said in its announcement.

The company also reminded users about responsible usage: “We love how AI unlocks amazing creativity—so keep it fun, stay transparent, and share responsibly when you use or post AI-edited or generated content.”

The rollout aims to encourage creativity among Snapchat’s user base while providing safeguards for responsible sharing of AI-generated images.
