Snapchat launches app for Amazon Fire Tablet users worldwide

Snapchat has become available for download on Amazon Fire Tablets via the Amazon Appstore, expanding access to users of Fire OS worldwide.

Amazon Fire Tablets are widely used for entertainment, education, and communication. The addition of Snapchat to these devices allows users to create, capture, and share moments more easily. According to Snap Inc., “With Snapchat now available on Fire Tablets, it’s easier than ever for people around the world to create, capture, and share the everyday moments that matter most.”

The version of Snapchat released for Fire Tablets offers features similar to those found on Android and iOS devices. Users can access Chat, Stories, Lenses, and Spotlight. Subscribers to Snapchat+, a service with over 17 million members globally, will have full access to their membership benefits on Fire Tablets as well.

Snap Inc. stated: “The Snapchat experience on Fire Tablets is comparable to Android and iOS devices, with access to core features like Chat, Stories, Lenses, and Spotlight. Snapchat+ subscribers–now more than 17 million globally–can access all the benefits of their membership on Fire Tablets as well.” The company also highlighted its ongoing efforts to increase accessibility: “With more than 900 million people using Snapchat each month, this launch builds on our continued commitment to make Snapchat accessible across more devices and platforms–helping friends and families everywhere stay connected and express themselves.”
