Snapchat launches Imagine Lens for AI-powered image creation

Snap Inc. has announced the launch of the Imagine Lens, its first Open Prompt Image Generation Lens for Snapchat. The new feature allows users to create, edit, and recreate Snaps by entering their own prompts. Users can then share these images with friends, post them to their Story, or share them outside of Snapchat.

The Imagine Lens is available exclusively to subscribers of Lens+ and Snapchat+ Platinum. According to Snap Inc., this release aims to offer more creative tools for its community using artificial intelligence technology.

The company reports that over 400 million Snapchat users have engaged with Gen AI Lenses more than 4 billion times.

“Every day, hundreds of millions of Snapchatters use Lenses to play, explore, and express themselves in new ways, and more than 400 million Snapchatters have engaged with Gen AI Lenses more than 4 billion times1.”

“Today we’re introducing the Imagine Lens, our first Open Prompt Image Generation Lens. With the Imagine Lens, Snapchatters can create, edit, and recreate Snaps simply by entering their own prompts, then seamlessly share them with friends, post to their Story, or outside of Snapchat.”
